WOODS ON THURSDAY

Just while I remember, Woods are in town this week playing the speakeasy, of all places, on thursday night. I don't know whose idea it was to put this band on where they almost certainly won't be fully appreciated but at least they're coming I suppose, so here's a cool vid to celebrate, and then a weird cover just for kicks. PS - Did I mention before that Espers and The Cave Singers are also playing this gig and that it's FREE? Sorry silly me.

LOTS OF THINGS THIS WEEKEND

First up is late night art on thursday, taking in all the usual venues and featuring new shows by Keith Winter (Not Squares) at Golden Thread, and an event called Warm Moving Bodies at Ormeau Baths which all looks pretty cool. Not Squares are also playing a free gig that night (busy one for Keith) at Radar with the new line up of Cap Pas Cap and Enemies which should be a blast too. Also our friends Silk Flowers hit Dublin on saturday and Belfast on sunday (featuring the debut of NO TMRWWS amongst other delights) and to prove it they've added these sweet flyers to their bespoke collection (why don't more bands do that?) so that's nice as well. So yeah, busy busy!

RULED. Super thanks to everyone for turning out and dressing up!! Special thanks also to Keith, Ciara, Claire, Ann Marie and all at Delawab for making it happen and to Desolation Wilderness and Girls Names for playing a BLINDER. Put it this way - if you weren't there, feel shit!

HALLOWEEN PARTY FINAL UPDATE!

Just a final quick reminder about the party tomorrow from 8pm, bring your own booze, fancy dress and dancing shoes for a very late one indeed! Also we are not taking any more names for tickets so if you have not yet confirmed by email and want to come please try to get down as early as possible to be sure of getting in as there are very few extra spaces. Hope to see you there anyway and have a good one wherever you end up!

NO TMRWWS + PARTY UPDATE!

NO TMRWWS is a new project featuring one half of JL Seagull all by himself with mostly only a very cheap keyboard, a drum machine and a multi FX pedal for company. We like it so much we might just have to put some of it out so keep your eyes peeled for new tapes soon, and look out for his first ever show supporting Silk Flowers on November 8th at (guess where?) the menagerie. The echo-laden dream pop of myspace track 'The Way' will give you a pretty good idea of what he's about in the meantime.

Also the Halloween Party guestlist is now nearing capacity so if you still want to come PLEASE email caff.flick@gmail.com as soon as possible to confirm, otherwise we seriously cannot guarantee you will get in (even if we know you!) - keep watching this space for last minute details as they arise...
